Cyril Beghin's Duras/Godard Dialogues is comprised of conversations between two legends of the arts, novelist-director-screenwriter Marguerite Duras (Hiroshima, Mon Amour; The Lorry; The Lover) and director Jean-Luc Godard (Breathless, Contempt, Goodbye to Language, et al). The conversations took place in 1979, 1980, and 1987, with the final set occurring after Godard and Duras had each published a collection of reflections on film, Duras's Les Yeux verts and Godard's Introduction à une véritable histoire du cinéma. Until this edition from the publisher Film Desk, translated from French by Nicholas Elliott, these talks had never before appeared in English in the United States.
